UTMB announces combined Aerospace/Emergency Medicine Residency
UTMB proudly announced their first-of-its-kind, combined, 4-year Emergency Medicine/Aerospace Medicine Residency. Residents from the combined program are trained to provide medical support to populations exposed to aerospace and extreme environments, and to be knowledgeable about the physical and engineering aspects of the flight environment (e.g., including, but not limited to, the physiology of high G-stress, hyper- and hypobaric environments, and radiation exposure). Their residents have the privilege of training in various locations, including the University of Texas Medical Branch, NASA Johnson Space Center, commercial space companies, Federal Aviation Administration, United States Air Force, US Antarctica Program, and various other sites.
